The trail leads you through both fynbos and forest vegetation.  When you walk in the open, the sea can be deafening at times, however, when you are in the forest, the surf is muted to a soft whisper by the trees and the cheerful singing of the birds…

The route is physically challenging, very challenging. You have to climb about a thousand steps, both up and down, and in many places you have to walk or climb over huge rocks.
