Mana Pools is one of those very special places in Africa that deeply touches your soul. Once you have been to Mana you will always yearn to return. We both have been to Mana before and we agreed that it would certainly be one of the highlights of our trip.

Exploring the southern shores of Lake Kariba
A gentle breeze from the water cools the hot day and a fish eagle calls every now and again as I look out over the blue expanse of Lake Kariba. The water gently laps the shore and I drink in the peace and quiet, sitting here at Musumu Lodge campsite near Binga.
We decided to give Hwange a miss and rather explore the southern shores of Lake Kariba. The road to Binga heading north from the Cross Roads junction on the A8 ‘highway’ was surprisingly good with only a few stretches badly potholed. Continue reading Exploring the southern shores of Lake Kariba

From Gonarezhou we headed for Matobo National Park. After a quick ‘B’ service on the Hilux in Chiredzi, during which we shopped and continued the eternal search for an internet connection, we headed north towards Lake Mutirikwi via Zaka, passing through picturesque rocky granite koppies.
